Event Details ↑
The genre of the book of seals originated in the sixteenth century, when people interested in genealogy, heraldry, and the collecting of seals began gathering representations of seals. The aim of this conference is to investigate the practice of making books of seals and to consider their legacies. The event brings into conversation specialists in archives, libraries and museums, with scholars of medieval records and early modern books.
